Resumo

This work is the first in a series in which I set out to show how classic films reflect certain important design aspects from the 20th century. Here I use the 1933 film King Kong to explain some aspects of the change in the relationship between man and nature as a result of the arrival of industrialisation, as well as analyse some emblematic objects from the history of design and architecture which appear in the film, such as the construction of the first skyscrapers and in particular the Empire State Building.
