Abstract

Throughout history the Canary Islands has been identified with a sort of mythical paradise in which life evolves happy and without effort, in a fertile nature and a benign climate. The idea is that the institutions have tried to commercialize as image of the Canary Islands since the end of the 19th century and which has been then imposed as a leitmotiv for the film industry in the Islands, more concerned with the tourist exploitation of the film than by its industrial potential.
