Los estudios sobre la estrategia IPS en el logro de empleo ordinario para las personas con trastorno mental grave

Resumen

Desde hace más de dos décadas se han incorporado nuevas estrategias para el logro de empleo ordinario dirigidas a personas con trastorno mental grave, entre las que destaca la conocida como Individual Placement and Support (IPS). El presente trabajo ofrece una revisión de los estudios sobre la estrategia IPS y analiza su calidad en relación a los resultados vocacionales y no vocacionales. Para ello consultaron diferentes bases de datos desde 1998 hasta diciembre de 2015 y se revisaron un total de 1148 referencias, de las que se seleccionaron 81 y se incluyeron 42: 23 ensayos clínicos aleatorizados, 11 revisiones sistemáticas y ocho estudios comparativos. Se analizó la calidad metodológica de cada uno de estos estudios mediante las escalas Jadad, Oxman y Estabrooks. En los ensayos clínicos aleatorizados se obtuvo para todos los estudios un puntuación media de 2.12 (dt=0.70), en las revisiones sistemáticas se alcanzó una puntuación media de 8.18 (dt=1.89) y para los estudios comparativos se alcanzó una puntuación media de 18.13 (dt=3.80). En general, los estudios revisados sobre la estrategia IPS son de una calidad moderada en relación a los resultados no vocacionales y muy débil en relación a los resultados vocacionales.
