Impacto del duelo complicado. Una lectura a través del lenguaje del cuidado.

Resumen

Resumen El duelo es un proceso natural y autolimitado de adaptación a una nueva realidad que surge tras una pérdida significativa, real o percibida, con un amplio abanico de manifestaciones que producen un impacto en la salud del doliente. Son escasos los estudios realizados específicamente desde la óptica enfermera que muestren el impacto del duelo. Objetivo: determinar el impacto del duelo y duelo complicado a lo largo del tiempo. Método: Estudio retrospectivo transversal, realizado con los registros de la historia clínica informatizada de Atención Primaria del Servicio Canario de la Salud en aquellos pacientes diagnosticados de duelo, riesgo de duelo complicado y duelo complicado en el periodo 2009-2014. Resultados: los dolientes con complicaciones sufren un aumento de necesidades de cuidado tras la pérdida, identificando diferencias significativas según edad, sexo y tiempo transcurrido. Además, aumenta su morbilidad con más problemas cardiovasculares, ansiedad, depresión e insomnio siendo derivados con mayor frecuencia al servicio de Salud Mental. Conclusión: La epidemiología enfermera da una lectura precisa de las necesidades del cuidado del doliente. Es necesario seguir avanzando en esta línea, abordando la adecuación diagnóstica, la valoración de las necesidades de cuidado individuales y la evolución de los dolientes en el tiempo.
