Resumo

The actual situation of the naval ship repair business, where the workload fluctuates a lot and where the global competitiveness has been increased offering the owner the possibility to reroute his vessels to the more suitable location, it makes necessary to optimize the internal management processes to complete the works as per the contractual agreement, delivery time, quality and cost, at the lowest cost for the shipyard. The purposes of this work are the analysis of the problems when implementing the process management in companies that work in a project based scheme, the identification of the core processes and the implementation of this management system to the key processes. Between the core processes found in the study, two of them have been chosen because they are considered crucial to guarantee the continuity of the shipyard: Project engineering. Procurement. The development and analysis of the above mentioned processes had detected the existing problems and the ways to improve their effectiveness.
