Abstract

Objective: We revise, from all the urgencies of our hospital, those in relation with contact lenses. Design: We have established a protocol to examine each patient with an urgency due to a contact lens during the 12 months of the study. If it was necesary, microbiological tests were also performed. Results: We find 45 patients from a total of 903 studied. 12 men and 33 women. The average age was 32.7. Most of patients wore soft contact lenses. We present results of microbiological study and descriptive statistics. Conclusions: To conclude, we describe the characteristics of a standard patient with an ophthalmological urgency relationated with contact lens
