Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to present a review about the aDNA analysis in infantile archaeological remains, as well as a methodological proposal that takes into account aDNA and infantile remains specific features. Bearing in mind the difficulty of sex determination in infantile remains using traditional anthropological methods, genetic sex determination is presented as an alternative. This kind of analysis are very useful when we are trying to issue historical interpretations regarding social structures of past societies, specially when studying the family. It is of vital importance to make a methodological proposal that takes in consideration the specific characteristics of the remains we are dealing with. This is why we propose the use of well preserved phalanges, as they present numerous advantages for this type of analysis.
