Abstract

The Academia Canaria de la Lengua is a linguistic institution that, based on the principles of recognition and respect for the linguistic and intellectual freedom of the peoples of the world, the rejection of all linguistic and intellectual dogmatism and the recognition that the Canarian identity is a fact linguistic and cultural that is defined as Hispanic, has as objectives the study, normalization (in the sense of «recognizing normality») and the promotion of Canarian speech and its literature, within its natural context, which is the Spanish language.
