Doctor by the Universidade de Vigo with the thesis Tejiendo (en) la incertidumbre El textil como proceso material e interfaz espacial 2023. Supervised by Dr. Ana Soler Baena.
Artist, designer, researcher and Professor. She holds a PhD in Contemporary Art, MFA and BFA at the University of Vigo, with research stays at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and the Cité Internationale Universitaire de Paris. She also studied a Master in Fashion Management, Superior Technician in Fashion Design at LCI_FD Superior Fashion School (Spain) and Postgraduate courses, such as Fashion Culture and Management (UNED) and Experimental Fashion Drawing at Central St. Martins (London). Her artistic work has been exhibited in several museums and institutions such as Cervantes Institute (London, Prague, Milan, Beijin and Moscow), Valentiny Foundation (Luxembourg), Disseny Hub Barcelona–DHub (Spain), RAC Foundation (Spain), MNAD_National Museum of Decorative Arts (Spain), CentroCentro_Cibeles (Spain), MAC_Naturgy Museum of Contemporary Art (Spain) or Centre d´Art Tecla Sala (Barcelona, Spain), among others. As well as her artistic practice, she has also been Professor in Fine Arts at the University of Vigo (5 academic courses), Guest Professor at ESDEMGA (Superior Studies of Fashion Design in Galicia) University of Vigo during 6 academic courses, Professor at the LCI_FD School of Fashion Design (3 academic courses) and at EASD Gran Canarias (1 academic course). She has also given numerous seminars and workshops in collaboration with schools, universities and institutions, such as EUDI (University School of Industrial Design), EOI_Mediterraneo (School of Industrial Organization), Mapfre Foundation, Fundesarte, EASD Mestre Mateo, EASD San Telmo, ATEXGA (Textile Association of Galicia) and The Crafts and Design Foundation of Galicia, among many others. Among his prizes and mentions, it is worth mentioning: First Prize ArtsFAD, Julián Trincado Prize at the Biennial 15 Mostra de Arte Naturgy (MAC), Cultiva Cultura Prize (Diputación de Pontevedra) and an Accésit at the I Premio Textil de Arte Contemporáneo (ICA Juan Gil-Albert). In the field of Design, she has received the First Prize for Entrepreneurship and has been nominated for the International Woolmark Prize and the Mango Fashion Awards. Nowadays she is developing her theoretical-practical research focusing on the materiality and spatiality of textile modes, understanding them as interrelational operators and as transdisciplinary spatial interfaces.
