Abstract
Chronic allograft nephropathy is considered a multifactorial and complex entity and constitutes the greatest risk in the development of transplant patients. The purpose of the study is the identification of stressors and factors of personality associated with this condition, and estimate its predictive power in two groups of patients with and without chronic allograft nephropathy, at the Nephrology Service in the University Hospital of Caracas. Framed in Health Psychology and Psiconefrology is an ex post fact correlational field research, transactional, approaching the relationships and predictions from the logistic regression analysis. The results show similar values between the two groups, no statistically significant means differences. Combined use of coping strategies are reported in a greater level of presence and intensity in the internal problems, personal failure and family deaths, everyday situations with your partner, childrens, friends, economic problems and positive self-perception. Confirming that 79.2% had a correct classification in patients at the groups; sexist factor of hassles, the work and economic events and the self-perception are the major contributors to the prediction. In Venezuela represents a pioneering study, set in a line of research that aims to test results on this topic between Spain and Venezuela, with different traditions, cultural contexts, different ways of thinking and researching from different perspectives.
