Resumo
With the recent approval of Law 26/2015, of July 28, the system of childhood and adolescence protection amendment, the figure of childhood at risk at Statewide is regularized, which had not previously happened. It is therefore of great importance to develop research to respond adequately to these underage. In this case, our goal is to study the use that teenagers at risk do of learning strategies and their relationship with academic achievement. We choose to research learning strategies because they are very important that these students learn to be strategic, as these learning strategies will determinate the effectiveness of their study. The sample consisted of 90 students identified at risk by the Social Services of various municipalities of Tenerife, from 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade of Secondary Education. Students were evaluated by the Learning Strategies Questionnaire (Beltran Perez and Ortega, 2006) and divided into two groups, students with normal performance and poor performance. The results show the importance of teaching good learning strategies to these students, in order to improve their levels of academic achievement.
