Resum

This work belongs to a non-experimental, cross, broader study that sought to determine the relationship between the critical learning, defined from an exploratory study on the critical education of adults, and psychological well-being of students in Senior University of La Laguna. This part of the study aims to describe the perception of students about their psychological well-being, for which we use the abbreviated scale of Ryff (Diaz and cools, 2006). The description is to find the measures of central tendency and dispersion of the 39 items that make up the instrument, using the six factors of the scale of Ryff in the Spanish version: Self-acceptance, positive relationships, autonomy, environmental mastery and purpose in life, we present the description and differences of medians in accordance to the demographic variables: age, sex, level of studies and years in the program. The participants sample was composed of 61 women and 39 men enrolled in the three courses in the second four months term of the academic year 2012-2013 and belonging to a population of between 50 and 84 years. Considering the results we can say that there are only differences in positive relationships in the age groups of people living retired and those without. As for the other dimensions, demographic variables do not determine significant differences in their scores. Depending on the value of the scores, we can ensure that students agree when assessing the factors in Ryff's scale.
