Résumé
The aim of this study is to analyse the investigation perfonned in the Canary Islands during the last five years in the area of Biomedicine. A survey in PubMed was made, searching for publications in the field of Medicine and related Sciences, under the following keywords: «Tenerife», «Gran Canaria», «Las Palmas», «La Palma», «Gomera», «Hierro», «Lanzarote» or «Fuerteventura» from 1 '' January 1996 to 31'' October 2000. The most relevant findings and conclusions are commented
