Abstract

Traditionally conventional mooring system is used for docking maneuvers of merchant ships, but now are developing and deploying new methods in different ports automatic berth for all types of ships. In this context, we consider as general objective to analyze the impact of innovation in mooring systems of commercial seaports. We intend to investigate how it has influenced innovation in the development of automated mooring systems, what their level of implementation, which have profitability and effects originated in the regions where they are located, socioeconomic and environmental. This analysis, in its technical, economic and environmental aspects, will apply to the port of Santander. For the general objective analysis of the evolution of automated mooring systems and its presence worldwide, a study of the technical feasibility through a simulator maneuvers in real time is an estimate of profitability also makes installing in a terminal or two to determine the regional economic impact on the regional economy of Cantabria and finally determining the environmental impact in the port of Santander.
