Resum

This paper presents how pupils with Down syndrome performed tasks of numerical partition. It has followed a qualitative methodology, through individual interviews with six people with Down syndrome (three teenagers and three adults) about numerical partition tasks that respond to five levels of difficulty. The results show that for five of the six people interviewed, numerical procedural knowledge does not correspond to the proper execution of the tasks of partition. This implies a weak understanding of the rules of the decimal numeral system.
