Resumen
The article examines the situation of public open spaces Añaza, a suburb of the city of Santa Cruz de Tenerife classified by the Ministry of Development as "vulnerable urban areas. The study seeks to show how the provision and management of such sites is crucial from the perspective of equity and collective entity. Also, from a critical standpoint, it questions the actions of local government and planning to formalize this kind of spaces, especially in urban areas to be marginal. In this context we explore the shortcomings which have spaces for neighborly relations, both from a quantitative and qualitative, and accordingly are made easy to implement some recommendations that may contribute to its improvement and, ultimately, to be transformed into places of encounter and sociability.
