Abstract

If any Institution is typical of the Canary Islands Regional Goberment, into the current administrative organization of Spain Kingdom, it is obviously Councils (Cabildos). But the interest about them doesn't finish at this point, because they were aways municipal corporations which were born in spanish Medievo and transplanted to America using the Patronato Regio (Royal Patronage) and also they were one of the most important institutions from the earliest days of the Conquest and they remains valid today in many countries in South Aerica. Since this perspective, I'm going to do a detailed study about how corporation council secularization occurs in Canary Islands and in America, previous to the notion and reality of modern state and closely linked to religious-based institutions
