Resum
This paper focuses to analyze the origin and development of the Military Schools for young people in Canary Islands before to enrollment in the army. This research try to study this phenomenon and observe the number of students enrolled, the school knowledge, the teachers who participated or access requirements of students. This was an example of attempted military and civic modernization in this region. Its origin is in the Army Recruitment Act of 1912 and 1924. From 1914 to 1936, eleven schools were created. Some of these military schools were public and some private. However, with one exception, the number of students enrolled will not cover the minimum 50 required for official course. Such schools produced a significant work of civic and military education, but also had a limited impact. Another objective of this paper is to observe its evolution and transformation.
