Résumé

The aim of this paper was to study the influence of 'group discussion' on inductive affective states. It is expected that group discussion context intensifies or mitigates induction method effect, after inducing affective states (positive vs. neutral vs. negative) using film sequences. Sixty subjects were involved in this experiment. Responses in a free word-association task were analyzed for each experimental group. Our results show that the effect of group context is stronger than that for the watching of short films, being produced a significantly higher rate of original words with the first method than with the second. These findings are examined in the light of current theories on cognition and affect.
