Abstract

In this paper, we present a model of convergent research that we carry out in the Area of Didactic of Mathematics of the University of La Laguna. It considers aspects referred to the development of the Mathematics Curriculum and research in Mathematical Education. We detect the knowledges and beliefs of each of the members of the curricular system and we implement a curriculum change. Regarding the research project we try to overside extreme positions between quantitative and qualitative aspects of the different paradigms and develop methods and techniques for both. There are very useful and complement each other (convergent methodology) and allow the better understanding of the processes and results implied in this research project.
