Abstract
Latín preliminary poetry represented quite a peculiar genre within the general frame of the humanist Latin production. The author of this article analyses a poem of this kind, one produced by Cristóbal Pérez del Cristo (Icod de los Vinos, 1639-1705), an outstanding learned figure of the Baroque in the Canary Isles. Not only does this study imply the edition and first approach to this text, but it mainly focuses on the relationship it keeps with other components of the preliminary models.
