Resumen

Gwendolyn MacEwen, one of the most important writers of the sixties in Canada, demonstrates in her work that myth is not merely a system or a literary device by which we escape worldly events, but that it can be found emanating from any daily situation. Myth enriches our existence and provides a way of communication between the real and the oniric, the authentic and the fantastic. In her attempt to discover the universal language of the cosmos, MacEwen tries continually to find the relationship between these two worlds. The result is the achievement of a unifying perception of life and the world by her continuous discovery of the mythological in the mundane.
