Zusammenfassung
This essay analises a group of poems by Gwendolyn MacEwen belonging ro her collection TheArmies o/theMoon (1972). She is inspired in the elemenr of Water and the Charos and the Moon archetypes to illustrate her journey of self-exploration towards the profundities of her own unconscious. Alchemy, Jacob Bóhme's mysticism and C.C. Jung's psychology act, at the same rime, as caralysrs for inspiration, creativity and knowledge ro reach her personal and literary aims. The psychoanalyrical Junguian theories, especially those suggested byJung, Campbell and Bachelard constitute the rheorerical approach of the analysis.
