Abstract
The extensive use of synthetic painting materials, together with the physical and chemical properties with which they are attributed, justifies the introduction of such materials to traditional encausting and wax painting in order to verify its compatibility and quantify its performance. The nature of this study is based on an analysis of the materials and experimentation, centred on a comparison between natural or traditional and synthetic materials, and also considering the need to establish partial evaluations which guide the viability of the process throughout the experimentation.
