Resumen

The present article analyze influential concepts like homo ad circulum and ad quadratum established by M. Vitruvius on his Ten Books on Architecture (III, 1), whose aesthetic and significant values had an important influence, development and interpretation during Middle Ages and Renaissance, dealing with a representation of man within a circle and a square not only as a scheme of perfection in the relationship beween man and cosmos but also as a symbol of a sacred history
