Abstract

Viera y Clavijo shows in the prologue to his great historical work how angry he is with George Glas for having omitted Abreu Galindo’s authorship in the English translation he does of the latter’s ms. and for the inaccuracy of some of his statements on the Canaries. But we can also see that our historian quotes him in his writings. And this is so because Glas’ volume provides a useful amount of points of view, notes and details, as the ones about the literary pieces circulating in the Isles at that time, especially drama, studied in this paper.
