Abstract
In the present paper we describe the first juvenile phases of the Atlantic form of the sea urchin Diadema antillarum (Philippi, 1845), captured with experimental collector desingned for the larval settlement and metamorphosis, in two localities of Tenerife (Canary Islands). In these earlier stages the species present defensive structures, probably related with their great successful recruitment.
