Abstract
The analysis of the language of some Canary scholars and writers of the 18th and 19th centuries, particularly José de Viera y Clavijo and José Agustín Álvarez Rixo, reveals curious differences related to the use of the object-pronouns, a thing which catches our attention since it shows a curious difference with the etymological use which has been the traditional one in the Spanish spoken in the Canaries.
