Abstract
The emergency of multiculturalism has intensified the debate about the meaning and treatment of differences. In this paper, we present and comment I.M. Young‘s proposal of creating the conditions for an intercultural dialogue in real contexts. Some of the traits of deliberation —symmetry, reversibility and the privilege conceded to the common— are rethought from the need of deserving moral respect to the cultural diversity of the other. Young‘s proposal modified «deliberative» democracy to obtain a more inclusive and realist model. Having into consideration this, we propose the possibility of defining a kind of pragmatic responsability that promotes communicative virtues.
