Abstract

The vitreous, epiretinal membrane and the internal limiting membrane are sources of invisible traction over de the retina in the posterior area inducing different pathological process. We use the indocyanine green as staining to make easer the removal of ILM (25 mg of contrast, dissolved in 0.5 cc dissolvent with 4.5 cc of BSS added). We get a good staining, leaving 2 minutes, indocyanine green solution above the macular area, closing the infusion and the esclerectomies. This technique makes the macular hole surgery and the epiretinal membrane extraction easier.
