Abstract
The first catalogue of the inshore fishes of the Salvage Islands is presented. A total of 60 different species were recorded, seven are Macaronesian endemic species {Muraena augusti, Myctewperca fusca, Abudefduf luridus, Bodianus scrofa, Centrolabrus trutta, Lepadogaster zebrina and Mauligobius maderensis). The greatest percents of species correspond to those distributed along the warm-temperate eastern Atlantic (28.3%) and by tropical and subtropical sectors at both sides of the Atlantic (20%).
