Resum

The Canary Islands are one ofthe regions ofthe world that is remarkable for its floristic diversity, not only in endemic species, but also by those exotic ones introduced from very old with ornamental or nutritional purposes. Many of these species, it's escaped from the gardens and cause dangerous invasions. In the present work, the results of a bibliographical revision carried out are exposed to know the treatment the naturalized ornamental plants in the books and papers of different scientists and naturalists, that they studied the flora and vegetation of the islands, from great canary historian Viera y Clavijo at the end of the century xvm, to the papers ofthe German botanist Günther Kunkel in the Sixties and Seventies of the last century
