Abstract

Starting off a recent study made in the Canary Islands for an Equal project on the repaying inequality between men and women in the Canary Islands several aspects related to the labor policies carried out by the companies of this Community were analyzed. Six-hundred seventy six questionnaires were made to representative companies by sectors, sizes and islands. Also discussion groups, formed by women with different location in the formal structure were equally formed. Among other aspects, the processes of selection and promotion were included. The discussion groups contributed the women’s points of view on how they live and assimilate these processes. Analyzing this phenomenon is the aim of this article.
