Abstract
This paper studies the role played by an illustrated canary medical, Antonio Gomez, in Venezuela Emancipation. It studies their social origins, his university´s formation and his work as a professional. Finally focuses on his role in the independence wars in Venezuela until his exile and death on the island of Trinidad.
