Abstract
During in last years, two of the main demands of the canary teachers concern labour days: it favours continuous time of schooling and reject afternoon tutoring. Recently the debate on school time has re-emerged and with it the opposite interests surrounding teachers´ continuous hourly job. In this paper we analyze the dissent among the principal members of the educational community: teachers, parents and educational administration. It also discusses the responsibility of different educational agents in enforcing the principle of democratization of the educative system and if the particular interests of teachers are questioning the democratization of the educational system.
