Abstract

The genre of the ecorché (pictures or statues of skinned men or animals) and the traditions from it comes have been studied in this paper. There are three converging traditions: ordinary things, artistic and anatomic. Moreover, this convergence has in its core the presence of the pictures and statues of a brazen Saint Bartholomew.
