Résumé

In Tenerife the water scarcity has led to use non conventional resources as reclaimed wastewater reuse. Membrane bioreactor technology is a promising altemative, since it provides an effluent of excellent quality and partially disinfected. In order to obtain previous information for the evaluation of the system performance, in the wastewater treatment plant of Santa Cruz de Tenerife a pilot scale bioreactor was placed. Results obtained were satisfactory, achieving a complete solids removal, a high organic matter reduction (>94%) and nitrification. Also, no significant membrane fouling is found when operating near the critical flux conditions. Finally, kinetic parameters for a full-scale design have been obtained.
