Abstract
This work aims to provide some empirical evidence on the existence of causal relationships between the housing market and the labor market in Spain. To this end, and using the annual micro Living Conditions Survey for the period 2006-2009, we study the causal relationships between the tenure type for the primary dwelling (ownership/rental) and employment status (employed/unemployed). The results obtained show that there is no incidence of home-ownership on the employment status of household head for the period considered (years 2006-2009).
