Abstract

The paper is about the dichotomy between facts and values. It is defended the thesis that values exist as possibilities of positive valuation. Those possibilities are not objective facts of a scientific kind, but they are not mere subjective facts either. Values exist in the subjunctive mode. Their peculiar sort of objectivity also is displayed in the subjunctive mode. And we can have epistemic access to values because far away our epistemic access to the actual facts of the world, we are sensitive to those possibilities. My arguments will follow some ideas of Eduardo Rabossi.
