Abstract

Mercury levels in fresh and canned fishes and cephalopodos. A study has been made on the mercury contamination in several seafish species and cephalopoda (fresh and canned) from the Canary Islands, Saharian Bank, South Africa and Spanish North West. Mercury content found in all cases, except in two samples of Boops boops, is much less than the maximun level permitted for human consumption recording to the Spanish Food Directorate.
