Abstract

he Education Act (1970) elevated to university level studies teaching professionals. Normal schools lost their identity by joining the University as Colleges of Teacher Training in primary school. In the curriculum, in line with the school curriculum, combined generalist teacher training, trained to teach lessons in the irst stage of basic general education teachers and specialists, for each of the areas set out in the second stage (Science, Social Studies and Spanish Language and Modern Languages).his article reports some indings of a study about the pre-service teacher training of Elementary Science Education in Spain. Aspects such as the professional needs, the demands of the society and the curriculum are analyzed. he methodology consists of analyzing educational programs, legislation and scientiic literature. Initially, we conducted a review of secondary sources of publications related to the topic at hand. hey have contrasted the perceptions and proposals for scientiic learning that have been made from educational settings. he results show the evolution of the sciences in the training of teachers and the curriculum of primary education.
