Resumo

Objectives: To present a descriptive study of three clinical cases of uveitis Toxocara canis patients with the aim of assessing the differential diagnosis, management and evolution of secondary ocular complications of this parasitosis. Methods: The descriptive analysis of three patients came to our department with uveitis and secondary formation of parasitic involvement by Toxocara granuloma, analyzing the clinical and therapeutic implications. Results: In our study, we report three clinical cases of this ocular parasitosis. Two of them are pediatric patients with severe ocular involvement and came with secondary leucocoria due to granuloma of posterior pole, another diagnosed in adulthood as a peripheral choroidal granuloma. Conclusions: There are very few affected patients diagnosed with uveitis by Toxocara canis. We must consider this disease in the differential diagnosis of leucocoria in childhood. Early diagnosis is essential, but most important is prophylaxis to prevent parasitic infection in the pediatric population.
