Abstract

Established the importance of the profitability as essential factor for the long term survival of the firms, the aim of this study is the determination and evaluation, from an empirical perspective, of the economic financial factors which could condition the profitability of the small and medium firms, by the but to identify the performances that guarantee its permanency. Our principal contribution is of methodological nature. Firts at all, we have deadened the sector and size effects and, on the other hand, we have applied statistics tools which do not require initial hypothesis on the distribution of the variables, showing greater adjustment the characteristics of the account information
