La igualdad en el Estado Social después de la gran recesión

Résumé

The present communication is a reflection on the extent to which the constitutional principle of material equality as collateral and purpose of the rule of Social State defined in the Constitution of 1978, has been threatened by the great recession we are suffering since 2008. The contradictions that can occur in Spain, as has happened in Portugal, between the adjustment measures imposed by international agencies that provide funding to overcome the crisis and control of the constitutionality of the same with the threshold parameter quality of public services required by our Constitution and EU law, and finally, proposals to be submitted to debate measures that could serve as an alternative, to continue to adjust in the most quick and easy, for the political power in order to continue maintaining a sustainable and fundable Social State
