Abstract

This article claims to offer an initial approach to the analysis of forcedmigration among diaspora studies. Beyond the state-centric paradigm of undesired mobility, the transnational approach offers a new vision of people’s displacement and its consequences. In the last years, diaspora studies have highlighted the relevance of certain experiences between generations associated with forced displacement in refugee camps and this approach is linked with the identity construction in forced migration. However, this focus is less covered. Thus, focusing on the personal and collective experience of subjects, as well as their agency, allows us to know the impact of certain experiences in the construction of new identities and subjectivities. Also, this article focuses on the feminist perspective of forced migration, women’s agency during displacement and the influence of certain categories in the creation of new identities.
