Abstract

Scientific literature has proved that having high abilities is not always a privilege. Seeing as these students have special school needs, it is necessary to develop intra and out-the-school programs. The Comprehensive Program for High Abilities (Programa Integral para Altas Capacidades, PIPAC), which has extracurricular and socioemotional contents, was created in 2004 at the University of La Laguna to support students with these characteristics between 4 and 6 years old, divided into three different age levels, and their families. They are coordinated by two instructors for each level. The program is subjected annually to internal evaluation, both summative and formative. For the latter, we evaluate the teaching behaviour of the instructors of said program, using observational methodology. In this study, we analyzed whether there are differences in the teaching behaviour of the instructors of the program throughout the intervention sessions, depending on three types of activities: intrapersonal, interpersonal and cooperative.
