Resumen

This research, elaborated on the games and traditional sports of the Canary Islands (aboriginal games, traditional motor games, and traditional sports) tries to find, from a comparison of their characteristics, the sociocultural and praxeology’s keys to understand the similarities or differences between the three groups studied and the interpretation that entails and all done in a diachronic and synchronic approach. This study presents a brief description of the various motor practices that are traditional from the Canary Islands, the adjustment of its cataloging process, and finally five features are analyze in a comparative way (motor interaction, motor communication network, degree of standardization of the space, temporality and scoring system) belonging to a broader analysis that has been developed for the documentation of these practices.
