Abstract
This paper analyzes Vattimo ́s hermeneutical work in his early book, T he Subject and the Mask , throughout Nietzsche ́s legacy. We shall try to state the genealogical operations of unmasking the moral de cadent figures. The subject is conceived as a social construction of a divided ego who embraces the social violence of which it is a product. The metaphysical dismantling carried forward by the affirmation of plurality, and by freedom us from appearances. The previously cited work established Vattimo as the greatest exponent of contemporary postnietzscheanism.
