In this research we present an ex post facto study, in which the Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) model (Dugas & Robichaud, 2007), is tested. This model take into account four processes related with GAD: intolerance to uncertainty, ne- gative problem orientation, cognitive avoidance and meta-beliefs. The outcomes point out that these four processes are highly related with GAD, although not so much with trait-worry. For both constructs, the common processes are negative orientation to the problem and meta-beliefs. It can be also observed some diffe- rences in cognitive avoidance, as threatening stimuli avoidance is a predictor of trait-worry, but transformation of images in thoughts and deletion of the latter is more relevant in GAD. outcomes are discussed attending to the differences bet- ween trait-worry and GAD.
