Nicaragua is located at the position 129 of the 187 countries that are part of the Human Development Reports (2011), 14 seats back in 2010 to be located at position 115 (of 169 countries). Its Human Development Index of 0.589 in 2011 is being located in the area of human development. The Millennium Declaration in 2000 set a series of objectives and goals to be achieved in 2015. One of the goals of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) is “to halt and begin to reverse the spread of HIV-AIDS”. The spread of HIV appears to have stabilized in most regions, and more people survive longer. In cotinues to confirm the increased Access to treatment for people living with HIV in all regions. In 2010 6.5 million people were receiving antirretroviral treatment for HIV or AIDS in developing regions, which means that there has been an increase in more tan 1.4 million since December 2009, becoming the highest increase ever achieved in a year. Despite these very encouranging data, not achieved the goal of universal Access by 2010. This article focuses on the findings of the Human Development Report (2010 and 2011), with emphasis on the Human Development Index, focusing on the context of Nicaragua. Also provide data on the achievement of the MDGs, especially concerning our object of interest is the sixth goal on HIV/AIDS.
